Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Head Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, andperformance of our heavy equipment fleet. This role requires advanced mechanical knowledge, strongleadership skills, and hands-on experience with hydraulics, welding, and diagnostic systems. The idealcandidate will ensure that all machinery operates safely and efficiently while managing shop operations andsupporting field crews. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, including loaders, pavers, graders, excavators,rollers, and trucksPerform preventative maintenance and inspections on all fleet equipmentOversee hydraulic system repairs, including hoses, cylinders, pumps, and valvesConduct welding and fabrication repairs as neededManage and lead mechanics and maintenance staffMaintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventoryCoordinate equipment repairs to minimize downtimeEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and company standardsOrder parts, tools, and shop supplies as necessaryAssist with equipment scheduling and long-term maintenance planning Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment mechanical experienceStrong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding/fabricationPrevious supervisory or leadership experience preferredAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and schematicsCDL preferred but not requiredStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to work in shop and field environmentsValid driver's license required Preferred Skills: Experience with asphalt, paving, or construction equipmentCertifications in welding, hydraulics, or diesel technologyFamiliarity with computerized diagnostic equipmentPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift heavy parts and toolsFrequent standing, bending, climbing, and working outdoorsCapability to work in various weather conditions Benefits: Competitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offRetirement plan optionsCompany vehicle or tool allowance (if applicable)
